2018-19 a great year for Arrow Athletics

CLINTON — Clinton Arrow Athletics closed out the 2019 Athletic year with much to be proud of, boasting numerous individual and team accomplishments.
Headlining the year for varsity sports were the Lady Arrows’ seventh straight MHSAA 6A State Championship and the Lady Arrows Kingpins Bowling Team repeating as MHSAA Class III Champions. Other achievements include:
- CHS head track coach Johnathan Perkins was named Coach of the Year and was nominated as one of eight coaches for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association National Coach of the Year Award.
- Thirty-two seniors signed athletic Letters of Intent to further their athletic careers at the collegiate level.
- Twenty student athletes were recognized as Tim Bruss Athletes the Month where they were recognized for their character and integrity on and off the field.
- Seventeen Arrow athletes were named to Statewide All-Star teams, and five Arrows were selected to All-State teams.
- Clinton’s head football coach Judd Boswell and head baseball coach Trave Hopkins were both named All-Star Coaches.
- Twenty-one Arrow Varsity Sports competed in post-season play with 13 teams winning district or regional titles.
- Sumner Hill Junior High School’s Football team as well as Girls Track & Field team both won Little Six Titles.
- Both of Clinton Junior High School’s Girls and Boys Track & Field teams won Little Six titles.
- The CJHS Football team and Girls Basketball team were also named Little Six Champions.
- The CJHS Volleyball team finished as first runners up in the inaugural Little Six Volleyball Tournament.
Meet the Arrows will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 8 at Clinton High School, and the community is invited to come meet athletes and coaches in all fall sports.
