Registration for 2021-2022 school year now open to all students
The Clinton Public School District has opened registration to all new and returning students for the 2021-2022 school year.
“Parents of returning students should have received an email letting them know that registration for their current Clinton student is open,” Assistant Superintendent Mr. Anthony Goins said.
“The link provided in the email will take them to PowerSchool where they will find access to registration for the next academic school year,” Goins added.
Access to online registration can also be found on the top of CPSD’s website, www.clintonpublicschools.com.
Returning Student Registration
Parents of returning students can access the registration portal through the link provided in an email. Access can also be gained by logging in to PowerSchool or by clicking on the Returning Student Registration button at the top of the district’s website.
Items such as parent/guardian contact information as well as key information like residency and important medical information will also be collected or updated during the online registration process.
Residency for Returning Students
Students whose addresses have not changed will not be required to show proof of residency.
During the online registration process, parents will be asked if their legal residence has changed over the past academic year while their student has been enrolled in CPSD.
If residency has not changed, parents will indicate their address has not changed.
If residency has changed, parents must submit a physical copy of all required residency documents to the school their child will attend in the 2021-22 school year.
Acceptable residency documentation includes a lease, deed or mortgage statement in the parent’s or guardian’s name plus a current utility bill in the parent’s or guardian’s name.
Seventh Grade Updated 121 Vaccination Form Required
“This step is only required for students entering 7th grade,” CJHS Principal Tamikia Billings said. “Once a student has received his or her TDAP (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) booster, parents can upload the updated vaccination record into PowerSchool during the registration process.”
TDAP boosters must be recent, defined as administered after the age of seven.
Anyone needing to locate an updated 121 Vaccination Form can contact their pediatrician or the Mississippi Department of Health.
New Student Registration
Parents of students new to the district will also register online, accessing the new student enrollment database by clicking on the red New Student Registration button at the top of the CPSD website.
Parents with students already in the district will log in to the enrollment database in order to start their new student’s form.
If a parent cannot remember his or her login information, contact [email protected] and that information will be provided.
Parents registering with the Clinton Public School District for the first time will create an enrollment account to begin the registration process.
During the enrollment database process, parents will create the new record of a student and will be required to upload required residency documents as well as a parent’s photo identification.
Submission of the form will not be accepted until all required documentation is provided.
Once the enrollment database process is complete, registration for a new student is complete.
Meet the Teacher Day, 2021
If all documentation has been provided, no other action will be necessary until Meet the Teacher Day for new K-9 students on Wednesday, August 4.
During this time, K-9 students new to the district will meet their teachers as well as receive emergency and checkout documents from the school’s front office.
Meet the Teacher day for returning K-9 students is scheduled for Monday, Aug 9.
Once school starts on August 11, parents who do not have a PowerSchool parent account may contact [email protected] to receive information in order to create an account. This account will allow parents to view grades, attendance and access registration for their students moving forward.
All registration links can be found at the top of the district’s homepage at www.clintonpublicschools.com. For answers to any registration question, contact [email protected].
