(GALLERY) Lovett ACCENT classes hold mock trials
Students in Lovett Elementary School's ACCENT class held a mock trial as part of their Forensics unit.
Students performed each role found in a courtroom setting, from judge to jury. Virtual students were not left out, playing the roles of courtroom clerk and participating in the jury.
Cases were presented by a prosecuting attorney with defendant and defense attorney present.
The prosecution called witnesses to testify, and a real jury of peers deliberated based on the evidence presented by both sides of the case.
After deliberations, the jurors presented their decision to the court.
