CLINTON — Anthony Stanford is known around Sumner Hill Junior High for his kindness and positive attitude.
“Coach Stanford is always willing to lend a hand, and he is so friendly to students and teachers,” said co-worker Edwina Patterson.
Teacher Jody Hill said: “Stanford shows hospitality and generosity with every interaction, and makes me feel a welcome part of the SHJHS family.”
Stanford is the recipient of the Clinton Public School District’s Dedication of Our Valued Employees — or DOVE — customer service award for the month of December.
He was nominated by multiple teachers at Sumner Hill.
“Coach Stanford is an exceptional teacher and mentor to our students,” said Social Studies teacher Roxanna Arcement. “He is always helping his football players on and off the field and in the classroom.”
The DOVE Award is given to one CPSD employee per month who demonstrates excellence in customer service. The award is based on nominations from the public.
Stanford will be recognized at the January school board meeting, planned for Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Central Office. As a DOVE Award recipient, he will receive gift cards from Chick-fil-A and Cock of the Walk restaurants.
