CLINTON — Bus driver Jimmy Creel greets all of his students with a smile and kind word every day when they step onto his bus.
His words and actions have not gone unnoticed; Creel is the recipient of the Dedication of Our Valued Employees — or DOVE — customer service award for the month of September.
He was nominated by a parent whose family is new to the Clinton Public School District after transferring from a private school.
“I was nervous about putting my children on the school bus, but from the moment they stepped onboard, Mr. Creel was kind, encouraging and positive,” said their mother. “Every day he makes sure all the students on his bus know he appreciates them and he’s glad he’s their bus driver.”
The DOVE Award is given to one CPSD employee per month who demonstrates excellence in customer service. The award is based on nominations from the public.
Creel will be recognized at the October school board meeting, planned for Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Central Office.
“One of our top priorities as a school district is customer service, and it’s employees like Mr. Creel who are making a difference in the lives of the students we serve,” said Dr. Tim Martin, superintendent of schools.
