CLINTON — Very few students earn all the honors that Clinton High School senior Clark Hensley holds.

His junior year, he scored perfect twice on the American College Test. He is a National Merit Finalist and, of course, a member of the prestigious 30+ Club at CHS. The latest addition to his list of accolades is STAR Student.

“We’re all so proud of Clark and excited about his future,” said CHS Principal Brett Robinson.

Clark named as his STAR Teacher Alix Williams, AP English teacher at CHS. Both will be honored by the Mississippi Economic Council at the annual MEC Education Celebration, planned for April 11 at the Jackson Convention Complex.

STAR Students are selected on the basis of academic excellence. Both ACT scores and scholastic averages are compared to determine which students will earn STAR designation.

“The STAR program encourages and promotes academic achievement among Mississippi’s high school seniors,” said Vickie Powell, MEC’s senior vice president of foundations.

Clark will be among more than 650 students statewide honored at this event. The top 20 honorees will receive scholarships and their teachers will receive awards.
