CLINTON — As the counselor for CHS Career Complex students, Lisa Lann works with students and families on a daily basis.
“Mrs. Lann noticed a problem with my son’s schedule and called me to see which classes he wanted to take,” said parent Tronnie Lacy. “She took as much time as necessary and never made us feel rushed as we worked through the scheduling process.”
Because of her hard work, Lann is the recipient of the Dedication of Our Valued Employees, or DOVE, customer service award for the month of August. She will be formally honored at the September School Board meeting, held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13 at Central Office.
“She was proactive in getting a conflict resolved which would have been harder to do on registration day when many schedules need changing and classes are full,” Lacy said, in nominating Lann for the award. “We felt like she really cared about us and starting the year off right.”
The DOVE Award is given each month during the school year to an employee who goes above and beyond in showing customer service to students, parents and the community. A five-member DOVE award selection committee chooses each winner from a pool of nominations.
“One of our top goals as a district is to provide great customer service to the community we serve,” said Dr. Tim Martin, superintendent of schools. “We want families to have a good experience in our schools, and this award recognized employees who exceed expectations in this area.”
Anyone can nominate a CPSD employee via the online form on www.clintonpublicschools.com. DOVE Award recipients receive gifts from Chick-fil-A, Playtime Entertainment and Cock of the Walk. They will be formally recognized at school board meetings, on district announcements and in The Clinton Courier.
