CLINTON — The Clinton Public School District is going paperless with the annual Teacher Incentive Package program.
For the tenth year, CPSD is partnering with area businesses and community organizations in an effort to recruit and retain great teachers. Through the Teacher Incentive Package, businesses are asked to offer across-the-board discounts or one-time offers for Clinton educators.
“Traditionally we’ve asked local businesses to print fliers that were assembled into bags to give our teachers when they returned in August,” said program organizer and Public Information Officer Sandi Beason. “But now we are going paperless, and the fliers will be sent directly to teachers’ email addresses.”
CPSD uses a service called PeachJar to send out electronic fliers to students and employees. PeachJar is used during the school year to replace paper fliers that traditionally went home in backpacks. PeachJar will be used for the Teacher Incentive Package, as one more way to fulfill the district’s larger goal of going paperless.
There is no fee to participate. The only requirement is that fliers be submitted by the July 27 deadline.
“Last year our teachers received coupons for free food from restaurants, discounts on merchandise at retail stores, and special rates on things like gym memberships,” she said. “Teachers really appreciate the support from local businesses. We got great feedback from our educators as well as the participating businesses.”
All contributing businesses will receive social media recognition as well as a sign suitable for framing or posting online stating that they support Clinton teachers.
