Principal's Welcome

My name is Mandy Taylor and I am the proud Principal of Eastside Elementary.  I am originally from Houston, TX.  I attended Millsaps College where I played collegiate volleyball and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.  I received my Masters degree in Emotional and Behavioral Disorders from the University of Southern Mississippi.  I earned a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from USM as well.  I taught special education for 10 years in the Pearl Public School District and acted as their Transitions Coordinator for 2 years.  I have served as an Assistant Principal at Terry High School, Eastside, and Brandon High School prior to returning to Eastside as Head Principal in 2019.

Assistant Principal

Dr. Cooper

Hello Eastside Elementary!

My name is Dr. Jennifer Cooper, and I am excited to join Eastside Elementary as the Assistant Principal.  I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2006 and took my first job at Brandon High School as an 11th grade U.S. History teacher and 12th grade Economics teacher.  I worked at Brandon High School for sixteen years, and during that time I received my Masters of Education from Belhaven, my specialist in Educational Leadership from Delta State, and most recently received my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Mississippi.  I am very excited about this new opportunity and am looking forward to a wonderful year!

ACCENT is a program designed for students whose measured intelligence places them in the top five percent nationally. Students attend our classes for 5 hours each week during their tutorial time. In these classes we teach students to utilize their intelligence through the study of research, creativity, reasoning, logic, problem solving, leadership, group dynamics and self awareness. For more information on the ACCENT program please look at our handbook on the ACCENT forms page of this web-site.
