Courses We Offer

CHS offers numerous options for Career and Technical Education

As construction progresses on new Career and Technical Education classes and labs at Clinton High School, the courses offered to students are growing and thriving.

“Students are engaged and excited to participate in work-based learning activities and are exposed to real-life work experiences,” said Dr. Bill Hardin, director of the CHS Career Complex. “Through our CTE programs, students are allowed to define and interpret their own passion for a specific career pathway.”

There are 373 students in grades 10-12 enrolled in CTE classes at Clinton High School. In addition to this, all Clinton freshmen (approximately 400 students) are enrolled in Freshman Seminar, which is also a CTE program, and 136 junior high students are enrolled in STEM classes.

Overall, 38% of Clinton students in grades 7-12 are enrolled in CTE classes.

“People many not realize the number and variety of CTE programs we offer at CHS,” Hardin said. “And it grows and changes nearly every year.”

Courses offered through the CHS Career Complex include:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Automotive Technology
  • Career Pathway Experience
  • Civil Engineering & Architecture
  • Computer Science Principles
  • Construction/Carpentry
  • Culinary Arts
  • Digital Media Technology
  • Health Science Core Healthcare & Clinical Services
  • Information Technology

New faculty members this year include Chef Catherine Bruce, culinary arts instructor, and her husband Trey Bruce, information technology instructor. Meghan Davis is new this year as CTE counselor and Ali Comley is the student services coordinator.

“We appreciate our community and school district for their willingness to make CTE programs a priority,” Hardin said. “With the passing of the bond issue last year and the progress of new construction, we will soon transition into our new home at Clinton High School and take one step closer to making career academies a reality for students.”
