Clinton Public School District

On Tuesday, October 28, Mississippi’s Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann’s office recognized three Clinton Public School District campuses as recipients of the Lieutenant Governor’s Attendance Award.
Clinton Park Elementary, Northside Elementary and Eastside Elementary were awarded the recognition for maintaining strong student attendance and chronic absenteeism rates below 15% for the 2024-2025 school year.
Clinton Public School District Superintendent Dr. Andy Schoggin said the attendance records for these campuses are not a coincidence. “It underscores the critical link between consistent attendance and high student achievement,” he added.
During a time where chronic absenteeism has seen an increase across the state, these three CPSD campuses were three of 130 Mississippi public schools recognized for consistently having high attendance.
All three schools also ranked academically among the top 13 elementary schools in Mississippi for the 2024-2025 school year.
“Our teachers and administrators do a wonderful job of connecting with families to emphasize the importance of attendance and to build a strong school-home partnership that supports every student,” Dr. Schoggin said.
