Clinton Public School District

Robert Chapman

Coming off the heels of the Mississippi Department of Education releasing district scores, CPSD’s sixth grade campus, Lovett, saw wonderful growth.

Sixth grade student assessment scores rose as Lovett ranked second in English Language Arts and sixth in mathematics.

“I am so proud of the work our teachers have done this past year,” Lovett principal Dr. Michael Pope said.

Pope added that the success seen at Lovett is truly a group effort.

“Our students and parents have worked hard to achieve these successes. The Lovett staff is continuing to work diligently in order to improve on the gains that we have made,” Dr. Pope said. “Excellence truly is the only option, and so that is what we strive for every day here at Lovett.”
