John Wallace

The Clinton Public School District’s Board of Trustees approved the appointment of John Wallace as Clinton’s new Career and Technical Education Director.

“Career and Technical Education has always been an intriguing field to me,” Wallace said. “My tenure in education has focused on the middle school ages, so working with our students as they prepare to embark on new adventures after graduation is exciting.”

Wallace brings a strong reputation of leadership with him to this new role. He currently serves as the Principal at Pearl Junior High School, but has a deep history with the Clinton Public School District.

Previously, he served as Principal at Clinton Junior High School from 2017-2019 and Principal at Sumner Hill from 2014-2019 following two years as Sumner Hill’s Assistant Principal.

“I am very honored to return as an Arrow for the upcoming school year. I look forward to collaborating alongside our instructors to offer the best experiences for our students,” he added.

Wallace started his education career as an English and social studies teacher from 2005-2012 at Clinton’s Success Center.

He was named CPSD’s Administrator of the Year in 2017 and was Clinton Success Center’s Teacher of the Year in 2007.

Wallace will assume the Director of Career & Technical Education duties on June 1, 2025. He will replace longtime Clinton administrator Dr. Bill Hardin.
