Dr. Jennifer Boykin

Longtime educator Dr. Jennifer Boykin has been selected to lead the Clinton Public School District’s Department of Special Education. 

The Clinton Public School District’s Board of Trustees approved her appointment during their March board meeting.

“Clinton has a long history of educational excellence, and I am honored to share in its commitment to the success of all students,” Boykin said. “I am thankful for my past professional experiences that have given me the opportunity to serve Mississippi administrators, teachers and students at both the state and local levels. I look forward to joining this community where excellence is the only option.”

Dr. Boykin has been in education for close to two decades and currently serves as the Executive Director for the Office of Special Education at the Mississippi Department of Education. 

She has previously served as a special education instructor, Section 504 coordinator and as Director of Special Services. 

She has also served as an adjunct professor in the School of Education for William Carey University.

Boykin will assume the Director of Special Education duties on July 1, 2025. She will replace Chaffie Gibbs who is set to retire at the end of the school year.
