Clinton High School’s Arrow Field recently underwent an upgrade in lighting after new LED lights were installed early in August.

The new LED lights, which were installed prior to the start of the 2026 football season, will allow for a brighter playing field, helping to improve both the safety and quality of play for the sports and activities at Arrow field. 

Clinton Public School District’s Director of Facilities and Grounds Christopher Lay said the district will see a dramatic decrease in its energy footprint with these new LED lights.

“The previous lights, 116 metal halide fixtures, consumed 1600 watts of energy,” Lay said. “The new LED system utilizes only 48 fixtures that use only 575 watts.”

He added, “The fixtures are also dark sky compliant, so there will not be any wasted ambient light illuminating the sky above the field.”

The Clinton Public School District partnered with PATH and Musco lighting to upgrade the facility, utilizing the same companies the City of Clinton used to upgrade the sports lights at Traceway Park.

“This project is another successful phase of an energy savings initiative to upgrade facilities throughout the District,” Lay said.
