Clinton assistant football coach and Clinton Park Elementary physical education teacher Barrett Barham was recently selected to participate in Mississippi's 2024-2025 “Tomorrow’s 25” class.

“It’s already been a great opportunity to hear from guest speakers from around the state and outside Mississippi,” Barham said. “These presenters have decades of experience and advice they share with us, helping us with communication and leadership skills to be able to correlate that to our teaching and coaching.”

“We are so happy to have Barrett Barham representing CPSD in The Tomorrow’s 25 Cohort,” Clinton’s Athletic Director Judd Boswell said. “Coach Barham exemplifies the word Coach in every aspect of his daily walk leading our Student Athletes.”

Boswell coached Barham during his time as a high school football player at Clinton High School and says he had an early indication that Barham would be a leader in his pursuits.

“I could tell Coach Barham would become a successful leader when he was a sophomore in high school just by how he carried himself each day,” Boswell said. “I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Barrett and the lives he will shape in the future.”

Barham’s aim is to one day become a head football coach and an Athletic Director and said this organization is helping him become equipped to achieve those goals.

In its third year, Mississippi’s Tomorrow 25 is put on by the Mississippi Association of Coaches (MAC) and the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) in partnership with the University of Mississippi’s School of Education. Tomorrow’s 25 is the signature leadership program from the Excellence in Coaching Project.

It is a 10-month fellowship designed to invest in 25 coaches from across the state who have been deemed an emerging leader in high school and middle school athletics. Currently, the Tomorrow’s 25 Coaching Fellowship is adopted in Mississippi and South Carolina.

The Excellence in Coaching profit is a non-profit that seeks to elevate the work of coaches across the United States, and Tomorrow’s 25 is designed to partner with state coaching associations to intentionally invest in their emerging leaders.
