Clinton Public School District

The Clinton Public School District Board of Trustees named Jesse Emling as Clinton’s new Director of Technology during the board meeting on August 11, 2026.

Emling will replace Wade Grant who previously served as Director of Technology from November 2023 through May of 2026.

Emling has a long history with technology and education. Most recently, he was employed with Instructure, the parent company of Canvas, the Learning Management System utilized by schools and universities across the country including the Clinton Public School District.

Prior to his time with Instructure, Emling worked at UMMC as an Instructional Designer and Application Analyst and was an Instructional Technologist for the Clinton Public School District from June 2016 to June 2019. 

“I am honored to return to the Clinton Public School District,” Emling said. “I look forward to working with administrators, teachers and technology department staff to ensure technology serves as a seamless bridge to student learning.”

A 2008 Graduate of Clinton High School, Emling brings a deep understanding of educational expectations and technological insight into his new role with the Clinton Public School District.
