Clinton Public School District
Students enrolled in several of Clinton High School’s Career and Technical Education courses will participate in a large-scale emergency simulation exercise on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
The emergency exercise will feature various emergency situations CHS’s Law and Public Safety students will be tasked to manage.
Students enrolled in Health Science courses will also participate, turning their classrooms into a staged Emergency Room and Triage Center, while students in the broadcast journalism courses will simulate various media coverage.
The Clinton Police Department and Clinton Fire Department and AMR will participate with CHS students in the full-scale simulation, equipped with police cruisers, fire engines and other emergency response vehicles
“This is a great opportunity for our students to gain real world experience during times of emergency,” Law and Public Safety instructor and former CPD police officer Al Kimbrell said. “Each incident planned will mirror real occurrences first responders see regularly.”
The exercise is to begin at 8:30am and is scheduled to end around 2:30 on the campus of Clinton High School.
