Clinton assistant football coach and Clinton Park Elementary physical education teacher Barrett Barham was recently selected to participate in Mississippi's 2024-2025 “Tomorrow’s 25” class.

During the February board meeting, the Clinton Public School District’s Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Dr. Demetria Funchess as Lovett’s principal.

Clinton High School junior Shelby Kate Taylor recently won the title of Junior Miss Dixie National after competing in the Miss Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo Pageant.

Clinton Senior Makayla Speed recently received the Silver Key Award in the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition for her painting "Heaven Waits for Me." Makayla said the recent loss of family members as well as her faith served as inspiration for her painting

The Clinton Public School District’s Board of Trustees recently enacted a measure to increase the supplement given to educators who are National Board Certified by 50%, adding an additional $3,000 to the existing annual supplement of $6,000. 

The Clinton Public School District’s total administrative costs for the for the current school year equate to 2.58%, a 4% decrease from the previous year. These numbers show the Clinton Public School District as having the 27th lowest administrative costs out of over 144 school districts across the state. 

Northside Elementary was officially recognized by the Mississippi Department of Education’s Board of Trustees for winning the National Elementary and Secondary Education Act, or ESEA, Distinguished School award for the work done during the 2023-2024 school year to close the achievement gap between student groups over the past few years.
