The Clinton Public School District once again earned an A-Rating from the Mississippi Department of Education’s accountability system, the highest possible academic rating a Mississippi school district can attain. With an overall score of 780, the district ranks as the fourth-highest performing district in the state of Mississippi and continues to be the highest performing district in the metro area. 

Coming off the heels of the Mississippi Department of Education releasing district scores, CPSD’s sixth grade campus, Lovett, saw wonderful growth.

Sixth grade student assessment scores rose as Lovett ranked second in English Language Arts and sixth in mathematics.

Seniors Owen McCleese and Grayson Fortenberry from Clinton High School have been named National Merit Semifinalists in the 70th National Merit Scholarship Program.

With the August release of the MAAP student performance data from the Mississippi Department of Education, teachers and students at Clinton Junior High School found themselves at the top of both mathematics and English Language Arts rankings.

The Clinton Public School District’s annual budget will enter its tenth year without seeking any tax or millage increase.

Clinton High School’s English II scores ranked them eighth in the state, an impressive improvement from the previous year. Clinton’s biology and algebra scores placed CHS and Sumner Hill in the top-15 statewide.

The recent release of state test scores from the Mississippi Department of Education revealed last year’s third graders at Northside Elementary School placed in the top ten of third grade students across the state in both English Language Arts and mathematics.

With the release of the 2024 MAAP scores, Clinton’s Eastside Elementary teachers and students found their mathematics, science and English Language Arts scores in the top tier of the state.
