Hello!  Welcome to our Academic Team Central website.  In the weeks to come I will be posting the names of our newly selected Academic Team members.  We expect to have three teams this year with six members each.  Currently we are "interviewing" perspective candidates for the teams, and the prospects look EXCELLENT.  I will also be posting a listing of tournaments in which we plan to compete throughout the course of the year.

 

As you know, Mr. Barfield has retired.  I have asked Dr. Peasant to allow me to sponsor the Academic Team.  Mr. Josh Osborne, history teacher here at CHS, has graciously agreed to be my assistant coach.  Mr. O. was a member of the CHS Academic Team when he was a student at CHS.  He brings knowledge, youth, and energy to our program.

 

We are trying to work out a time to practice daily.  I have a homeroom full of 10th graders at the moment.  Dr. Peasant is trying to work it out so that I can use homeroom as a time to work with Academic Team.  Keep your fingers crossed.

 
We are looking at a time to host our pre-season tournament this fall.  I will need parents and students to help in order to pull this off.  I will be calling!!!!!!!!  Also, parents, we will need help transporting students to and from tournaments.  As always you are welcome to come and cheer our teams on!
