READ CAREFULLY
1. The record of the student's academic
work will be sent to his/her school upon the completion of his/her work and
completion of all clearance procedures.
2. Once summer school has started, his/her
money cannot be refunded.
3. Each student will provide or make
arrangements for his/her own transportation.
4. Students will remain on campus when not
in class.
5. Students will remain on campus during
breaks. Vending machines will be
provided.
6. No student will receive credit for a
course in which he/she has more than two (2) unexcused absences.
7. All absences will be unexcused
unless medically excused. All
medical excuses must be turned in to the office upon returning to school.
8. In the case that a student's conduct in
class becomes such that it interferes with normal school work, he/she will not
be re-admitted until his/her parent/guardian accompanies him/her to school for
a conference with an administrator.
9. Dress Code for Summer School attire
(See attached)
10. Smoking is not permitted. A student who is observed smoking or in
possession of tobacco in any form will be suspended for one (1) school day and
the absence will be unexcused.
11. The State Accrediting Commission states
that work done in summer school shall be comparable to that required in the
regular session. Credit will be given
when a student does all assigned work and averages at least a passing grade
mark (70 or a "D") for his/her final grades.

DRESS CODE
1. All students are expected to
observe certain minimum standards of hygiene, sanitation, and personal
appearance. The following regulations
are to be observed by all students. Students
suspected of dress code violation will be sent to the office for determination
of violation. If a change of dress is required and the
change requires the student to be out of the class for more than 30 minutes of
the class time, that class period will be designated as unexcused.
It is virtually impossible to write a
regulation which will adequately cover every detail of appropriate conduct and
dress. Therefore, it is necessary for
the principal of the school to make judgments as to whether a student is properly
groomed and dressed and/or is manifesting appropriate behavior. Our attention is turned to educational
pursuits; therefore, we are attempting to eliminate as much confusion as
possible.
A. Hair shall be groomed so as not to
extend below the eyebrows and cover or obscure the eyes or any part thereof.
B. Hair shall not be groomed in class.
C. Hair shall be free from obnoxious
odors, maintained clean in quality, and neat in appearance.
D. Picks and combs shall not be worn in
hair.
E. Shoes or sandals shall be worn.

F. Tank tops and muscle shirts shall
not be worn.
G. Midriffs hall not be exposed.
H. Cleanliness
of both dress and body is mandatory.
I. Belt,
if worn, shall be buckled.
J. Fasteners designed for use with an
article of clothing will be used appropriately at all times.
K. Clothing
with vulgar, indecent, or suggestive writing of symbols shall not be worn.
L. Clothing advertising tobacco,
alcohol, and drugs shall not be worn.
M. Unless
prescribed, sunglasses shall not be worn inside the buildings.
N. No
clothing considered and designed as underclothing shall be worn as an outside
garment.
O. Shirts and blouses shall be worn
tucked in unless designed for outside wear and shall be buttoned or zipped.
P. Any article of clothing designed to
cover the lower part of the body must come no higher than four (4) inches above
the center of the knee. This includes
dresses, skirts, overalls, skorts, shorts, etc.
Q. Hemmed, loose fitting walking or
Bermuda shorts and skorts may be worn.
R. Unacceptable outer wear for the
lower part of the body includes: unhemmed,
ragged-and-cutoffs, running shorts, bicycle/spandex pants/shorts,
cut-off-warm-ups and gym shorts.
S. Jeans, shorts, and other garments
with holes which expose the skin or any undergarment shall not be worn.
T. No hats, caps, or toboggans hall be
worn inside the buildings.
U. Appropriate underclothing shall be
worn.
V. No see-through clothing shall be
worn unless worn with appropriate underclothing.
W. No clothing top shall be so low in the front as to expose any part of the breast or
shall be excessively low in the back.
X. Any style of clothing determined to
be immodest in dress is prohibited.
2. Students are expected to dress and
groom within the limits set by these standards.
Students are expected to obey the rules and directions of their teachers
and principals in charge of their educational program. parents are
requested to see that their children conform to the limits set by the personal
appearance standard. Parents are
requested to encourage their children to participate in the spirit intended by
the standards for personal appearance and the discipline program. The personal appearance code will be
positively enforced by teachers, principals, and administrators.
3. These standards for dress,
grooming, and discipline with appropriate methods of enforcement and appeal
have been established to provide an environment and conditions, whereby the
school district's educational program can be so planned, adopted, and conducted
as to provide each child the training and opportunity to take his/her place in
a democratic society. The personal
appearance code has been developed to establish a standard of decency for
covering the body and should be interpreted in the spirit for which it is
intended.
